Aflam is opening its call for applications for the fifth edition of the Rencontres, which will take place in Marseille (France) from 22 to 26 November 2017.This call for applications is looking for films for two distinct sections:« A LA UNE »: This section looks for feature films which have made an impact in festivals or in the media. These films are selected for their artistic value as well as for their political and cultural impact.*Requirements for participation:
– Films in Arabic and/or produced in an Arab country and/or from an Arab director or a director of Arab origin.
– Only feature films accepted
– Documentaries, fiction, animation, experimental video clips, commercials or promotional films not accepted)
– Films produced after the 1st of January 2016

« CINEMAS EMERGENTS » : This section seeks to uncover emerging cinematography and show the work of younger artists whose talent and creativeness merits wider recognition.
*Requirements for participation:
– Films in Arabic and/or produced in an Arab country and/or from an Arab director or a director of Arab origin.
– Feature films or short films accepted
– Documentaries, fiction, animation, experimental (video clips, commercials or promotional films not accepted)
– Must be the film’s Première, or second screening
– Films produced after the 1st of January 2016
